Spatial Disambiguation.
Obvious this is covered extensively in the book, but as we are aporoaching it's release questions are evident. What is Spatial Disambiguation and how does it apply to recovery? In most recovery pathways especially step programs the overwhelming context of discovery is people places and things and how we as substance users interact with it. I believe that many of those aspects take far too long to discover, and don't provide a working knowledge of those details. Spatial Disambiguation in the physical realm is a Map comprised by an individual of contextual events, time and or places, any of which having ambiguity, or components that are not defined, understood or left to be determined later. Metaphysically those details are crucial to the forming of our persona, our social circle or socio economics, and truly what we're willing to endure as a result of the lump sum of information. Deeply explained in the book we have a past, present and future tense self to contend with, more over where that self is in life. Are we grieving, leading the pack and making decisions to be hip, following, are we care free? While in active substance use and even as we gain abstinence we lack the introspection ability to look at those functions with any discerning complexity. The parable does that easily, as we accept "truths" regarding the individuals portrayed we can see the complexity of our own life and choices quickly and deeply at any tense or stage of our life. One of the most important principles to hold with Reflection is Open Mindedness. Confucius defines knowledge as "To know something is knowing, to not know is not knowing. That is knowledge." That's keeping an open mind, the trippy part is knowing what we don't know being more powerful in our past than what we do. The difference in this is observation vs introspection. When what we "know" has quantitively more volume than what we don't, even if what we "know" is comprised of knowing what we don't, our introspection has valued over our observation. If we look we decide, if we think, we thrive. Hopefully this gives everyone something to chew on in anticipation of the release and I hope that as this community establishes we can hear this resolve our way of thinking, and give clarity to what was once our Spatially Ambiguous mind.
Til next time see ya at "The Fight Club..."
